Acacia Safaris Helps Turn an Empty Hall into a Place of Learning

This month, one of those partners — Acacia Safaris, a Ugandan-owned safari company with deep roots in conservation and community tourism — helped take the next small but meaningful step.
When Acacia Safaris learned that the Centre’s main hall stood ready but unfurnished, they offered practical help. Within weeks, they delivered 20 chairs and 10 tables — simple additions that turned the space into a working classroom and meeting hall.
Before the delivery, the hall stood quiet — bright and clean, but empty. There was nowhere to sit, nowhere to write, nowhere for a class to take shape. Days after Acacia’s furniture arrived, the first tailoring and computer literacy sessions filled the room with voices and movement.
“It feels different now,” said Marian, the program manager. “When you walk in, it looks like a real classroom.”
The new furniture has already changed how the Centre feels and functions. Students now have a proper place to practice their craft. Trainers can run workshops without moving between borrowed spaces. Local groups meet here for community discussions and planning sessions.
